I’m looking for a good crochet pattern for a smaller hook and smaller yarn, I want to make one of those trendy slouchy type hats that verges on beret-like.

It’s in British English, so you’ll need to do some substitution. Their double crochet is OUR single crochet, their treble is OUR double crochet, etc.
