crochet v stitch
I need some help for a pattern I have…?

Ok, I need help on a stitch this pattern requires… Here are the instructions I’m given for the stitch, but every time I do it, and then get through a few rows, the fabric of the piece doesn’t look like the picture provided. I’m making a shawl from Annie’s Favorite Crochet April 2006, the design is by Sandra Miller Maxfield with an easy skill level.

Picot V-Stitch: (picot V-st): DC in next ch or sp, ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in next ch, dc in same ch or sp as last dc.

Could someone give me a link to a site that gives better instructions, like perhaps with pictures? I’ve allready looked at the website of the magazine, but it doesn’t have it. It’s got Picot and V stitches, but no Picot V-Stitch.

I can relate to your dilemma as I hate making picots!
you make the first part of the V which is a dc now the picot starts with ch3 then sl st in the first ch of the ch 3 ,end of picot and now the second part of the V, dc in the same place as the first part of thr V.
I try not to make anything with picots but sometimes it can’t be avoided.
I hope this makes sense.
