Cross Stitch for a modern bride?

A friend of mine is getting married. I want to make her something by cross stitch, because i know nobody will duplicate it.
My problem is that she doesn’t like hearts, pastels or religious sentiment.
Can someone please help me find something that is not on the cutesy side and fits a girl who enjoys things more cosmopolitan than country?
Purple, red and black are her favorite colors. Perhaps you can give me advice on how to adapt an exisiting pattern or show me a website.

There’s a great cross stitch software program called PC stitch, and they have a FREE downloadable program demo where you can upload ANY pic or design, and it will turn it into a pattern for you. They only problem is you can’t modify or save the pattern with the demo, you would have to print it out. It’s so easy to use, you can just find a picture that’s more her style, upload, and print out the pattern. I personally have tried the demo to make patterns out of pictures I took with my digital cam, and they turned out so well, I just may buy the software. Here is the link:
