Where did the Madras Patchwork Pattern originate?
I just bought a skirt online and was pondering where this pattern originated. Yes, it is rather… well, unsightly at first glance to many but I was still pondering.

good luck … last one is nice
Patchwork madras originated from the Indian city of madras.
Plaid fabrics are woven on handlooms, and machine looms in various designs and patterns.
Patchwork madras is made by cutting these plaid / check fabrics into strips and then sewing them as squares of different patterns put together.
